About
My focus was to provide an efficient flow of information so that users could access the articles, events, and organizations more easily. My role included product management, visual design, and, user research.

Step 01: Why A Redesign?
The website's home page was flooded with articles that provided a huge influx of information but there was no hierarchy of what information was most recent or most important. The “Our Organizations” page structure lacked eye-catching images to keep users intrigued. During usability testing, users found that the calendar was too small and the information was hard to read. with the donation page users found it unnecessary to have a drop-down menu for the “Put this donation toward” drop-down feature. With all of the feedback my group received from users, we decided to find a better way to organize and lay out the information that would better suit the user's needs.
Step 02: Site Map
For the navigation bar, my group thought it would be better to do some card sorting because users struggled to find certain pages using the original navigation bar. I removed Resources from the original nav bar and placed mutual aid under campaigns because it is a service where they go grocery shopping for those who can’t. I also found that it would be better to replace the resources tab with a new tab so that users can find all the latest articles and updates in one area.
Step 03: Branding
The UI Style of the DSA San Diego site redesign has preexisting parameters defined by the national organization. The DSA website is intended for both members and people familiar with the DSA to look up information easily, as well as people new to and unfamiliar with Democratic Socialists of America. The website should be straightforward, clean, and uncluttered for the primary purpose of utility, while also serving as a friendly and approachable welcome for people just getting started. Additionally, as this is the website for the San Diego chapter, there should be a distinct regional uniqueness to the design.
